As of right now, I think ETH is far and away the best collateral on the Ethereum blockchain. I imagine after MCD launches, even more ETH will be locked up as collateral.In the future, who knows. A lot depends on if valuable assets get tokenized on the system.

We’re pleased to announce the release of the new CDP Portal for single collateral Dai which can be found at cdp.makerdao.com.
The CDP Portal is the new dApp where you can interact with the permissionless smart contracts constituting the Dai Credit System, such as opening and managing your CDP’s, similar to that of dai.makerdao.com but with a focus on user experience. Opening a CDP allows you to generate DAI against your collateral. The collateral is locked up in a smart contract until you repay your outstanding DAI balance and a stability fee — assuming that your CDP is properly managed against the risk of collateral volatility¹.
Over the last few months, we have worked tirelessly to understand how we can make it easier and more intuitive for users opening and managing CDP’s. Through multiple rounds of user testing, design iteration and the creation of new proxy contracts, we now have a version we are proud to share with the community. Looks like Coinbase intends to add hundreds, yes I said HUNDREDS of alt coins onto their site “quickly”. No clue what their definition of quickly is but we will all find out together. Candlestick and Volume:
- When a price pattern is confirmed by heavy volume, that price pattern has a higher chance of success in terms of its predictability.
- Price patterns that occur on light or thin volume show a lack of conviction among traders, whereas periods of heavy volume show either strong conviction in a trending market or a struggle for control of price direction at key turning points.
- If a trend is in an uptrend and volume is dropping as the trend continues, the likelihood of a trend slowdown or reversal increases.
- Increasing volume is not as important in a downtrend, as price often can fall under its own weight simply because of a lack of buying interest.
- Consistent or increasing volume in a trending market, however, shows that the trend is healthy and there are enough participants to continue to push the price in the direction of the trend.
- Price rises on increased volume show that more buyers are entering the market (increased demand) and there is not enough supply to meet that demand.
- Conversely, declining prices on increasing volume show that more sellers are entering the market (increasing supply) and their liquidation is not being met with adequate demand.
CONFIRMING CANDLESTICK PATTERNS:
- Whenever a spinning top, doji, hammer, hanging man, or engulfing pattern is formed in a trending market, volume can provide important confirmation regarding the potential success or failure of the pattern. The higher the volume when a reversal candle or pattern is formed, the more interaction there is between buyers and sellers.
COUNTERTREND BEHAVIOR:
- Although an increase in volume paired with reversal candles shows high-probability turning points, there are also times when low volume can demonstrate that countertrend buying or selling pressure is running out of steam and that a continuation of the prevailing trend is likely.
- The lower volume signifies that the selling pressure (in an uptrend) or buying pressure (in a downtrend) is not due to a change in sentiment but merely to traders exiting the market in an orderly manner. It is when the volume pattern changes (an increase in volume as a countertrend move develops) that a trader must be alert for a possible change in trend.
